Terms of Use & commercial information
These terms describe the Micdrop website and current closed beta. There is no public download, signup, checkout or payment collection. This is not an on-sale paid licence agreement.
What is available
Micdrop is an independently developed Mac voice-input tool, currently available only to invited beta testers. The current build requires Apple Silicon and macOS 13.5 or later; Apple's built-in speech option requires macOS 26 or later. No Windows or mobile app is offered here.
You can dictate, tidy wording, translate or rewrite selected text. Availability depends on the version, permissions, accounts and external service you choose. Results can be wrong; review them before sending or acting on them.
Commercial terms and planned paid options
A one-time purchase and a subscription are planned. The approved one-time list price is US$50, paid once. The subscription is update-focused; its price and billing period have not been announced. Purchases and automatic renewal are not available.
Before any sale, the transaction page must state included features, eligible versions and updates, use duration, device limits, payment and delivery, taxes, cancellation and refunds, and what remains usable after payments end. No lifetime updates, unlimited usage or specific future features are promised now.
External speech/text accounts, subscriptions and usage fees may be separate; a Micdrop paid plan does not automatically include them. Only explicitly published promotions establish eligibility, discounts or deadlines. This site currently offers no redeemable promotion or free licence.
Use and responsibilities
Process only recordings, text and screen content you have the right to provide. Obtain any required consent or other appropriate basis before recording others or sharing their data. Do not infringe privacy or copyright, or bypass service providers' account and usage restrictions.
You grant Microphone and Accessibility permissions on your Mac. Micdrop does not send messages for you. Keep backups of important data and choose the retention settings you need for history, audio and request details.
External services and beta limits
The default ChatGPT path uses a private, undocumented service, not an official OpenAI integration; it may change or stop working. External providers have their own account terms, fees and data policies. Local speech does not make text processing or beta authorization entirely offline.
The beta may contain errors, limits and changes. Accuracy, uninterrupted operation and fitness for every use are not guaranteed. This does not exclude liability or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded. Do not rely solely on recognition or generated text for medical, legal, financial or other important decisions.
Statutory rights are preserved
These terms do not require you to waive legal rights in advance. If a transaction is offered later, cancellation, refunds and complaints must follow applicable law. We do not declare all digital purchases non-refundable. Mandatory legal rights take precedence over conflicting wording here.
Operator identity and contact
Micdrop is a product name. The operator's legal identity and general privacy/consumer contact have not been confirmed. A brand name is not a substitute for a legal operator, and a security-report address is not a general support inbox.
Before paid sales, operator/seller identity, legally required business/address particulars and a channel for privacy, consumer and contract requests must be provided. This website currently accepts neither orders nor personal-data requests. Do not send identity documents, payment details or private recordings through an unconfirmed channel.
Changes and status of these terms
Updated 7 November 2026. Material changes will be reflected here; separate consent will be obtained when required. Browsing does not accept unpublished paid entitlements. This is a product-authored notice, not a claim of professional legal review or compliance certification.
