Privacy & cookies

Website data

This site serves static pages, images, self-hosted fonts and a small preference script. It has no analytics, advertising tracking, third-party embeds, signup forms or payment collection. Visiting the site does not request microphone permission or access the app's recordings or text.

Your browser still connects to the hosting service. Delivering pages, protecting against abuse and diagnosing errors may involve IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps, browser information and connection logs. Necessary delivery/security is different from optional advertising tracking and does not stop when you reject optional uses.

Cloudflare is the intended delivery/security provider. Hosting features such as security challenges may set necessary cookies, depending on deployment settings. The deployment operator must confirm enabled features, processing locations and retention; static source alone cannot establish that no cookies or logs exist. New analytics or advertising uses must not load before updated disclosure and consent.

Cookies and device storage

Cookies are small browser records that may accompany requests. localStorage is origin-specific device storage, not automatically sent like a cookie. Our preference mechanism uses localStorage only; it does not create cookies.

The choice applies to Chinese and English pages on the same origin, not automatically to another domain, browser or device. If storage is blocked, it applies to this page only and is requested again on your next visit. You may also delete this record in your browser.

Allow all, reject all and custom choices

Page delivery, security and saving the choice are necessary uses and cannot be disabled in this panel. Optional uses start off. Analytics and advertising are currently absent and disabled; Allow all does not enable absent technology or authorize future additions.

You may allow all, reject all optional uses, or save custom choices without a consent wall. Reopen Privacy preferences in the footer to change or withdraw optional consent. Withdrawal changes the choice to reject; there is currently no owned optional storage to clear.

We send no consent receipt and create no consent-record server. Withdrawing cannot erase hosting security logs or copies already held by external providers; those require the relevant service's process and applicable law.

Mac app: audio, text and external services

The app accesses audio through the microphone permission you grant on your Mac when recording is enabled. By default audio goes to a private ChatGPT service for recognition. You can choose another online provider, your own server, Apple's built-in recognition or recognition downloaded to your Mac. Provider and region depend on your selection and account, and processing may occur outside Taiwan. Downloading speech models also requires a connection.

Tidying, translation, rewriting and questions may send transcript text, dictionary terms and permitted screen context to OpenAI. General context defaults to the app name; spoken Ask about a selection reads that selected passage. Nearby text, window information and visible screen content have separate controls. These can contain other people's data; provide only content you are entitled to share.

Optional warm-microphone or chunked-preview settings change capture/transmission timing. Chunked preview may upload while you are recording; cancellation cannot retract parts already sent. Provider retention, training use and deletion depend on that provider's rules and account arrangement. We do not guarantee zero retention, no training use or complete downstream deletion.

Mac app: local records and personalization

Settings, dictionary and history are stored on your Mac. History defaults to Forever, with shorter retention/Never and deletion controls. Successful dictation audio is normally removed unless keeping audio is enabled; failed/interrupted audio can remain for recovery, subject to retention. Retrying explicitly uploads that selected audio again. Deleting history does not erase usage totals.

Correction learning is a separate opt-in, off by default. When enabled, it may observe corrections to recently inserted text and send original/corrected text to OpenAI. Learned words, preferences and counts are kept separately on the Mac; you can disable learning, forget words or reset the profile. Raw examples may appear in request details. History Never must not be read as a promise that all personalization data is absent.

Request details normally stay in memory. Separately enabling disk saving may retain text, instructions, vocabulary, corrections and allowed context in bounded plaintext files. Micdrop does not add encryption to these files. Credential fields are redacted, but arbitrary private text is not guaranteed to be scrubbed. Use the app's privacy/retention controls.

Mac app: trial authorization and feedback

Trial authorization sends device identity, public-key and trial/authorization information to the licensing service. Feedback you explicitly submit is also sent; an interview email is included only if you choose to provide it. This flow does not automatically include audio, transcripts, context or provider keys, but free-text comments can contain anything you type. Do not submit secrets.

Device and feedback records may be held on the backend. Exact retention and a public rights-request channel still need to be supplied by the operator; immediate deletion is not promised. Website cookie choices do not change app permissions, provider consent or trial eligibility.

Rights, contact and limits of this notice

Applicable law may give you rights of access, copies, correction, cessation of collection/processing/use and deletion. These are not waived in advance here; necessary retention and other limits depend on applicable law. You can manage browser choices and local app data yourself; external-provider data requires their own process.

Legal operator identity, a general privacy-request contact and specific hosting/backend retention arrangements have not been confirmed. See Operator identity and contact. Do not send identity documents or private material through an unconfirmed channel. This is a product-authored notice, not legal advice or a compliance certification.
